Our credit department has recommended that your account be referred to our attorney for legal action. Our numerous attempts to collect from you during the past year half been unsuccessful, but because of our long-term relationship, I am reluctant to accept that recommendation.

I will hold the credit department's suggestion in my desk for ten days in the hope that you will respond favorably by then.
